Hamburger Camerata

Classical Music
Elbphilharmonie (Kleiner Saal), Hamburg

Spotlight on the young generation! Each season, musically gifted »Jungs & Deerns« from northern Germany are given the opportunity to perform alongside the Hamburg Camerata in the exquisite Recital Hall of the Elbphilharmonie. Youthful energy, unspent motivation, and a healthy dose of positive excitement make these concerts particularly intense and memorable musical experiences.
This season, the stage belongs to 15-year-old horn player Paul Scheffler and 24-year-old cellist Oskar Meier, both scholarship recipients of the German Foundation for Musical Life, as well as 25-year-old violinist and conductor Doğa Cetin. The program is as diverse as it is engaging, featuring the Horn Concerto by Swedish composer Lars-Erik Larsson, the Concertino by Mieczysław Weinberg, one of the 20th century’s most fascinating composers, and the well-known string orchestra suite From Holberg’s Time by Norwegian composer Edvard Grieg. Adding to the freshness of the evening, the approximately one-hour concert is also moderated by the young conductor herself.
