St. Pauli unvergessen - Reliquien der Reeperbahn

City Walks

This event is part of the series:

Join the creators of the "Museum without Walls" to explore rare artifacts from the history of the Reeperbahn, scattered throughout the district. Experience St. Pauli up close.

This tour is part of the "Places of Things" project and a walking tour through the "Museum Without Walls." It leads to historically significant objects in unusual locations. In the bar and the garage, at the hairdresser's or in front of the "red-light district" window; everywhere there are things to discover that tell a story – and on this tour, they are brought to life: A set of cutlery bridges the gap to the "Roaring Twenties," a tea service to a famous prostitute. Germany's most famous gas station sign becomes a "panoramic window" into Hamburg's urban planning from the 1940s to the present day, and ten centimeters of wood become witnesses to a world-renowned musical career. The tour begins with refreshments (non-alcoholic) at the 1a-Bar in the ARCOTEL Onyx – precisely where the "Trichter" entertainment venue marked the entrance to the Reeperbahn for around 130 years. On display are: an original Höpfner bass guitar from Paul McCartney and other Beatles memorabilia, original erotic advertising panels by local artist Erwin Ross, who also painted the entrance scene to the "Zur Ritze" bar, the Mona Lisa of the Reeperbahn - "DOMENICA" the painting by Donna Sani Sue, an original painting by Klaus Barkowsky, known as the pimp of the century "The Handsome Klaus".
