Zuversicht (Confidence) is when we experience hope so actively that we trust in the future despite all odds. The newly released album of the same name – the fifteenth by the »sonically brilliant trumpeter and exceptional composer« Nils Wülker, and his first with a German title – radiates this life energy in many wonderful ways. The eleven original compositions, recorded in a quartet, bring a sense of completion while opening up new horizons. They deliberately push the bandleader out of his comfort zone into a beautiful, new sonic world.
