»Arbeit und Struktur« (Work and Structure), those were the most important factors which stabilised Wolfgang Herrndorf during the three years he was ill with a tumour. In his blog of the same name, the author of the successful novel »Tschick« (Why We Took the Car) documented and commented about his experiences and thoughts about death.

Ensemble Resonanz combines the blog – later published posthumously as a book – with Joseph Haydn’s Passion music »Die sieben letzten Worte unseres Erlösers am Kreuz« (The Seven Last Words of Our Saviour on the Cross). In seven slow and meditative movements, Haydn sets Christ’s final words, as handed down in the Gospels, into a powerful musical tableau. The readings from Herrndorf’s texts are performed by the uniquely intense actress Meret Becker.
